Invest with Creative Thinking: taking a closer look

Do you ever wish you were more brave? Do you wish that you could just do what you want without thinking about anyone else’s opinion, or to take a risk and do something extraordinary and innovative for mankind?

After Invest With Pride and Protect Water we explore Creative Thinking, the ETN in Oval that includes companies that challenge the status quo, investing in creativity, in the attitude to change and consequently in Research and Development, or that section of the company that it deals with the innovation of processes and products, with a view to continuous improvement.

Creative Thinking: don’t be afraid to look forward

As we said, Creative Thinking is an investment product that aims to invest in companies that "challenge the status quo and try to change the world we live in".

This ETN is based on the index of the "Forbes World's Most Innovative Companies" list, which takes into consideration the companies that invest in innovation: we are not just talking about startups born to revolutionise the status quo, the innovation we refer to is also that of consolidated companies, which are not afraid to take different paths from those taken up to that moment.

The list also includes consumer and luxury products companies, as well as pharmaceutical companies, which are not afraid to change course even when they are at the top: behind great inventions there are always brilliant minds who have been given the opportunity to study, test, try, fail, try again and finally succeed. Innovation also means humility and courage: that of never feeling once and for all and that of daring and taking risks, even in the name of a greater good which is that of the rest of the world, which could benefit from the effort of brilliant minds. Some company names you can find in this index? Workday Inc, Facebook Inc, NVIDIA Corp, Intuit Inc and many more.

Some examples of innovation and creativity?

AstraZeneca is a biopharmaceutical company that is committed, on a global scale, to the research, development and marketing of ethical drugs. In partnership with EY Advisory, it has recently developed a pharmaco-economic analysis model on a first innovative drug, which aims to evaluate the benefits for patients in terms of efficacy and for the National Health Service in terms of cost savings even before marketing the product.

Have you ever used tools like Jira or Trello to organise your work day? Surprise: Atlassian is the company that develops these tools, used by thousands of teams around the world. Through continuous innovation, Atlassian supports and facilitates the daily work of more than 170,000 companies around the world.

We could not fail to include Facebook, the social network that has continued to evolve and innovate relentlessly since its birth. An example of this race to innovate is the post shared by founder Mark Zuckerberg who imagines a 2030 in which "technology continues to create opportunities, but above all that allows all the other components of the economy to grow even faster." Is there a future after the smartphone? According to Zuckerberg, yes. Perhaps not in close proximity, but "at some point in the 2020s we will have revolutionary augmented reality glasses that will redefine our relationship with technology". But this will not lead us to estrange ourselves from reality. On the contrary, "instead of having devices that distance us from the people around us, the next platform will help us be more present and help technology get out of the way."

Performance to remember

Taking a look at the performance of Creative Thinking compared to the S&P 500 - the main benchmark relating to the most coveted stocks listed on Wall Street (NYSE and Nasdaq), representing approximately 80% of market capitalization - we see that the index has outperformed throughout the year, reaching a performance of +26,70% since the beginning of 2020.

It should be specified that this index is 100% composed of an equity component, therefore it is more risky than other products that are diversified with a bond component, and so is recommended for experienced investors.
